NFC business cards for film, video, and creative pros

On-set introductions, festival weekends, and one-time meetings: how creatives use NFC cards to share reels without fumbling for links.

Creative networking is weird and fast

You meet a producer for four minutes between setups. You might never see them again. If they cannot pull up your reel that night, you are forgotten.

Paper cards with a URL they will not type are useless. "Find me on Instagram" depends on them remembering your handle after three drinks at a festival bar.

I built HALVE partly for this workflow: tap, reel, contact saved, move on.

On set and in production offices

Phones are out constantly but attention is fragmented. NFC works when you say "tap for my reel and number" while walking.

Lead with your best recent work, not a five-project history. One strong link. Role line specific: "Editor" beats "Filmmaker."

Save contact button high. Producers actually call people whose numbers are in their phone.

Update the reel link the week a new piece drops. Paper cannot do that. Your HALVE profile can.

PVC card survives jacket pockets and craft services tables better than you expect. Still replace it if the chip cracks from abuse.

Festivals and market screenings

Badge lanyards, loud rooms, short conversations. You need speed and clarity.

Tap early in the conversation when interest is real, not when they are rushing to a screening.

Check tap analytics at night. Follow up with anyone who opened your profile within 24 hours while the film is still fresh in their head.

Keep QR on your profile for scanners who prefer camera apps. NFC vs QR explains when each wins.

Conference playbook: networking without paper.

What to put on the profile

Hero link: reel or recent project page.

Secondary: personal site or Vimeo if that is where your best work lives.

Contact: email and phone if you want calls.

Optional: Instagram if your social is part of the pitch.

Skip: every credit from the last decade. They want taste and reachability, not IMDB on a phone screen.

One-time meetings and referrals

Creative work spreads by referral. Someone you met once forwards your link to a colleague if saving you was easy.

Make forwarding easy: profile URL readable, page loads fast on 4G, reel plays without login walls when possible.

If your reel requires a password, say so on the profile and offer a public teaser link too.

Objections from creative friends

"I only work on referrals I already know." Fine. Card still helps when referrals meet you cold at a party.

"Instagram is enough." It is until someone does not use Instagram professionally.

"Too corporate." PVC HALVE cards are minimal. The vibe is yours to set in photo and copy, not plastic shape.

Gear and cost

One PVC NFC card around €29 one-time beats reprinting creative business cards every time your edit reel updates.

Free profile first. Card when you are booking enough in-person intros to justify it.
